PAINTINGMUSIC is about creating related visual and musical compositions.
The work, created in 2016, comprises six large paintings and six pieces for two pianos that have emerged from memories of Stravinsky’s music theatre piece, Histoire du Soldat reworked through a newly written text, The Tillman's Tale. Notwithstanding some figurative references, the paintings, like the music, are essentially abstract compositions.
The images are presented in a book with CD of the music - available for £25 from [email protected]. The book includes an introductory essay and the full text of The Tillman's Tale, to which both the images and music are related.
